Heat Could Not Stop Quest for Knowledge, Rain Could Not Curb Enthusiasm for Research:
Sociology Undergraduates' Professional Internship (in Nantong and Sanmen) Successfully Concluded
From June 29 to July 5, 13 undergraduate students of Class of 2021 from the Department of Sociology at Tsinghua University, led by Prof. Sun Xiulin, went to Nantong, Jiangsu Province for a week-long professional internship. This internship aimed to cultivate undergraduates' capability of social care, improve their basic disciplinary literacy, facilitate the application of academic theories to solve real-world social problems, and practice the concept of "striving for objectivity and staying from indifference" in fieldwork.
Meanwhile, from June 29 to July 5, 10 undergraduates of Class of 2021 from the Department of Sociology at Tsinghua University, led by Prof. Jin Jun and four graduate teaching assistants Hu Zhuojiong, He Run, Zhang Gong and Li Xiaozhou, conducted week-long professional internship fieldwork in Sanmen County, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province. This professional internship was mainly carried out in Yujia Village and Haitang Village in the county, and continued to focus on village industries and rural revitalization based on the one involving students of Class of 2020 in Sanmen County in 2023.
